The menu leans into classic American favorites, prepared in a way that feels honest and filling rather than overdone.

Reviews often mention the friendly vibe and the feeling of finding a hidden gem along the road, which matches the overall experience from start to finish.

“ Good food, fast service, menu with a twist. I had fully loaded fries and they were awesome. I haven't had fries that tasted that good in a long time! ”

“ This little country eatery has been in business for roughly 40+ years. The food is always amazing and every one is always so kind and friendly and compassionate and the atmosphere is family oriented and affordable. Definitely our favorite local spot. ”

“ Great service and great food. The animal droppings are great and the homemade soups are the bomb. Always good sized portions and fast service. Thanks ladies, you never disappoint! Oh, and it is always a beautiful ride, but beware the deer... we almost got fresh venison within a half mile of the entrance. ”

“ Very good, waitress was nice and attentive. Food was good. I wish the regular menus had the "roadkill names" but the waitress did give us the to go menu for our grandson. Got some tee shirts and other stuff. ”

- Deborah Fulton -

“ Typical off-the-beaten-path mom-and-pop type of establishment; been coming here a lot since I was a kid, and although the interior of the store/restaurant has changed over the decades, the food and experience is always out of this world. The history and how the place got started is a fascinating story. I always love bringing people here when it's their first time; highly recommend checking them out, not far at all from I-68! ”

“ Hi there. Me and some of my m/c brothers stop in to eat here Saturday. I have heard in the pass that their food is excellent. So I suggested we stop. I had a hot turkey sandwich with fries. It was excellent. Turkey taste like it was just cook. All my brothers love their food and also said everything else was great. Staff was friendly and prompt. Hats off to the cook and everyone else that keeps this place going. Thanks Base/Yak - SSFFSS - 19/19 Ps. This place is out in the country. So make sure you have gas. Lol ”
